This 1940s home in the lovely neighborhood of Mission Hills in San Diego had an original bathroom which was outdated and out of shape. The clients came to Studio SIMIC with a clear vision of wanting new white subway tiles with dark grout and plumbing fixtures and accessories in a gold and black finish. Studio SIMIC came in to help them pull it all together. Although the outdated fixtures and finishes was not the only problem. There were space issues too which was later solved by adding a wall mounted small sized sink to open up the cramped space for better flow. Exposed decorative plumbing below the sink also creates a feeling of openness. A new deeper acrylic tub which was less wide as the original brings in an element of clean contemporary design while providing for a more functional use of the space. French gold fixtures were selected for a softer look compared to a brighter gold. Black accents provide contrast and a light warm gray paint color complements the wall space above all the white tile.
