Located in the University City neighborhood of San Diego was a client in need of a full kitchen remodel. The existing space was a small kitchen separate from all other living spaces. Non load bearing(remove) walls were removed to open the kitchen up to a large adjacent dining room. Also a second room entry off the kitchen was widened to become a play room for the family with two young children. This allowed the client who love to cook the ability to spend time in the kitchen and have easy visual access to watch over their toddlers. A pair of exterior doors were moved into the new play room and an existing kitchen window was made larger. The new plan allows for a much larger and more functional kitchen design with a more contemporary open plan feel.
